Auggies fall 4-1 at Finlandia

HANCOCK, Mich. -- Erica Berthold opened the game with her first collegiate goal for Augsburg College, but host Finlandia University rallied with four straight goals for a 4-1 victory over the Auggies in a nonconference women's hockey game on Saturday afternoon at the Hancock County Arena.

Berthold scored her first collegiate goal, assisted by Amy Wenzel, at the 2:21 mark of the first period for Augsburg (1-9-2 overall). Both Augsburg and Finlandia (5-10-0) had 22 shots apiece in the game.

Katelyn McLean scored two unassisted goals for Finlandia, with Emily Marcotte and Kendra Benson adding the other Lion goals. All four Finlandia goals were unassisted.

Grace Edgar, making her first start of the season in goal, had 18 saves for Augsburg. Stephanie LaMore stopped 21 of the 22 shots she faced for the win for Finlandia.

Augsburg returns to action with a nonconference game at Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Wednesday (1/13) at 7 p.m.
