MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Outshot by a 19-5 margin, the Augsburg College women's soccer team dropped an 8-1 decision to Concordia College-Moorhead in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.
The lone goal for Augsburg (3-7-2 overall, 2-4-0 MIAC) came in the 62nd minute, when
Carly Reimer (SO, Eagan, Minn./Henry Sibley HS) scored her fourth goal of the season, assisted by
Rachel Nelson (FY, Coon Rapids, Minn.).
Concordia (7-2-3 overall, 5-1-2 MIAC), ranked No. 4 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association Division III North Region rankings, received a three-goal hat trick and assist from Sam Johnson. Susan Obermiller scored two goals with three assists, Sarah Rounds scored two goals with two assists, and Gina Weiss scored a goal and added two assists.
Katie Gajewski (FY, Wausau, Wis./Wausau East HS) had three saves in 60 minutes in goal for Augsburg, while
Taylor Becker (JR, Red Wing, Minn.) had three saves in relief.
Concordia scored five goals in the first half, including four goals in a 12-minute span midway through the opening stanza.
Augsburg returns to MIAC play on Tuesday (10/12) at 4 p.m. with a game at Bethel.
