ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Jim Jensen (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Osseo HS) scored two goals with an assist in the third period, as his Augsburg College men's hockey team rallied for the second straight day to claim a 4-2 victory over St. John's University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon at the National Hockey Center.

For the second straight day, Augsburg (6-3-1 overall, 2-2-0 MIAC) had to rally from a third-period deficit with three straight goals to score the victory and the series sweep. On Saturday, trailing 2-1, the Auggies scored three goals in a 4:56 span late in the game -- with Jensen scoring a power-play goal and empty-net goal.

Jensen tied the game with a power-play goal at the 14:28 mark, assisted by Nick Guran (JR, McHenry, Ill./McHenry East HS) and Joel Sauer (SR, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS). Sauer then put the Auggies ahead with a goal from Guran and Jensen with 1:21 remaining in the game, and Jensen finished the scoring with an empty net goal with 36 seconds left.

Mario Mjelleli (SR, Faribault, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) put the Auggies on the scoreboard, with a power-play goal from Kris Reinthaler (SO, Graz, Austria/Spring Creek Academy (Texas) HS) just 18 seconds into the second period.

St. John's (2-10-0 overall, 2-4-0 MIAC) received goals from Brent Brodersen at the 5:47 mark of the second period and Justin Brausen midway through the third period.

Augsburg outshot St. John's by a 30-25 margin, with Justin Lochner (SO, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) recording 23 saves to pick up the win for the Auggies. Adam Andersson had 26 saves in a losing effort for the Johnnies.

Augsburg is now idle for the holiday break, and returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 7:05 p.m., hosting Finlandia (Mich.) in a nonconference game at Ed Saugestad Rink.
