Brittany Dyshaw (FY, Eagan, Minn.) led Augsburg with a double-double as the Auggies fell 87-68 to Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Monday night at Augsburg's Si Melby Hall.
Dyshaw led Augsburg (3-16 overall, 3-13 MIAC) with 17 points, 10 rebounds and six steals, posting her third point-rebound double-double of the season.
Micha Sater (FY, Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) scored a career-high 16 points and added six rebounds and two steals. Also finishing in double figures for the Auggies was
Tracee Schrank (FY, Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg Area HS), who finished with 12 points two rebounds and two assists.
Gustavus was led by Molly Mathiowetz, who finished with 17 points and eight rebounds. Point guard Brianna Radtke posted a game-high 10 assists and added six points for the Gusties in the win.
Gustavus used a 13-0 run to start the game. Augsburg battled back to cut the lead to eight but couldn't keep up with the hot-shooting Gusties as they nailed a three-pointer with one second remaining to take a 47-32 lead into the locker room at the half.
Schrank hit two free throws to open the second half and cut the Gustavus lead to 13 but the Auggies couldn't whittle the Gustie lead to single digits as Gustavus went on to win 87-68.
For the game, Augsburg shot 37.5 percent (21-of-56) from the field, while the Gusties hit 58.2 percent (32-of-55) of their shots. The Gusties grabbed a narrow 35-31 advantage on the boards but Augsburg was able to outscore Gustavus in points on turnovers 23-19.
Augsburg and Gustavus both return to action on Wednesday (2/3) with Augsburg traveling to Concordia and Gustavus traveling to Macalester.
