Auggies fall 9-2 at St. Olaf

NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- Jeanna Dudley (FY, Lindenhurst, Ill./Lakes Community HS) scored her first collegiate goal, and Whitney Pratt (JR, Mitchell, S.D.) also scored for Augsburg College in the Auggies' 9-2 women's hockey loss to host St. Olaf College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Friday night at the Northfield Ice Arena.

Lauren Tomford scored two goals for St. Olaf (12-8-0 overall, 8-5-0 MIAC), while Katie Iraci had a goal and three assists for a four-point night, as 12 different Oles figured in the scoring. Nicole Stumpf, Meghan Stumpf and Kristen Latta had a goal and assist apiece.

Augsburg (2-16-2 overall, 2-9-2 MIAC) was outshot by a 57-14 margin, including margins of 20-3 in the opening period and 22-3 in the second period. Toni Menth (SR, Buffalo, Minn.) started and had 27 saves in goal for the Auggies, while Grace Edgar (JR, Plano, Texas/Plano West HS) had 21 saves in relief.

Dudley scored her first collegiate goal, from Kressi Lehn (FY, Rogers, Minn.) and Erin Leyden (JR, Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South HS), at the 19:22 mark of the first period, while Pratt scored her first goal of the season from Jenna Knudtson (JR, Austin, Minn.) at the 19:30 mark of the final period.

Erin McNamara picked up the victory in goal for St. Olaf, with two saves in 31 minutes of work. Corbin Ruiz had 10 saves in relief.

The teams complete the MIAC series on Saturday (2/13) at 7:05 p.m. at the Augsburg Ice Arena.
