Auggies drop 4-0 decision

MINNEAPOLIS -- Playing in her final home game of her career, Toni Menth (SR, Buffalo, Minn.) collected 55 saves in goal for Augsburg College in the Auggies' 4-0 loss to No. 8-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game on Friday evening at the Augsburg Ice Arena.

Gustavus (18-4-2 overall, 13-3-1 MIAC) outshot Augsburg (2-19-3 overall, 2-12-3 MIAC) by a 59-7 margin in the game, en route to the victory. Allie Schwab (SO, Stillwater, Minn.) had a goal and assist for the Gusties, who had seven different players figure in the scoring.

Kayla Ingbretson (FY, Mound, Minn.), Meagan Wanecke (FY, Delafield, Wis.) and Sara Yungner (JR, Maple Grove, Minn.) also scored for the Gusties.

Andrea Toft (SR, Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson HS) and Sara Toft (SR, Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson HS) had two shots on goal apiece for the Auggies.

It was the final home game for five Augsburg seniors -- Menth, the Toft twins, Whitney Restemayer (SR, Bemidji, Minn.) and Jess Olson (SR, Delano, Minn./Wayzata HS).

The two teams complete the series to end the regular season on Saturday (2/27) at 2 p.m. in St. Peter.
