ST. PETER, Minn. -- In her final collegiate game, Augsburg College goalie
Toni Menth (SR, Buffalo, Minn.) claimed a career-high 67 saves, as the Auggies dropped an 8-0 decision to host Gustavus Adolphus College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game on Saturday afternoon at the Don Roberts Ice Rink.
Gustavus (19-4-2 overall, 14-3-1 MIAC) outshot Augsburg (2-20-3 overall, 2-13-3 MIAC) by a 75-9 margin, and Allie Schwab and Mollie Carroll had two goals apiece.
Kali Holst (SO, Mound, Minn./Mound-Westonka HS) and
Sara Toft (SR, Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson HS) had two shots on goal apiece for Augsburg.
The 67 saves marked the sixth time that Menth has recorded 50 or more saves this season, and the 11th time she has recorded 35 or more saves in a game this year. Her previous career high was 59 saves in a 2008-09 game.
It was the final home game for five Augsburg seniors -- Menth,
Sara Toft,
Andrea Toft (SR, Alexandria, Minn.),
Whitney Restemayer (SR, Bemidji, Minn.) and
Jess Olson (SR, Delano, Minn./Wayzata HS).
