Erin Leyden (JR, Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South HS) scored the lone goal of the game for Augsburg College, as the Auggies dropped a 5-1 decision to St. Mary's University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game on Saturday afternoon at the SMU Ice Arena.
Stevie Fiek and Ingrid Klockars scored two goals apiece for St. Mary's (9-9-1 overall, 6-5-1 MIAC), with Erin Stenseth adding the other goal.
Leyden's goal, at the 3:26 mark of the third period, was assisted by
Jessica Larkin (FY, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) and
Kressi Lehn (FY, Rogers, Minn.) for Augsburg (2-15-2 overall, 2-8-2 MIAC).
St. Mary's outshot Augsburg by a 37-12 margin.
Toni Menth (SR, Buffalo, Minn.) recorded 32 saves for Augsburg, while Kaye Collier had 11 saves for the Cardinals.
Augsburg returns to action next weekend with an MIAC series against St. Olaf.
