Auggies, Falcons battle at Troy Burne

HUDSON, Wis. -- Jill Ferguson (SO, Batavia, Ill.) led Augsburg College with a 99 total, as the Auggies faced the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in a women's golf dual meet on Thursday afternoon at the Troy Burne Golf Club.

On an incredibly challenging course, Wisconsin-River Falls posted a 394 total to win the dual, while Augsburg, with just four golfers, scored 434.

Ferguson placed fourth among the 11 golfers in the event. Ashley Lindemann (FY, Fargo, N.D./Fargo South HS) shot 106 to place seventh, Margaret Hughes (FY, Mendota Heights, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) posted a career-best 107 to place eighth, and McKay Karl (FY, Belle Plaine, Minn.) shot 122 to place 10th.

The Falcons had the top three scores in the dual, led by Paige Cook's 89. Mackenzie Casey shot 96 and Janae' Lyon shot 98.

Augsburg closes its fall half of the 2010-11 golf season at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships, to be held Saturday to Monday (10/2-4) at the Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minn.
