Auggies fall at UW-River Falls

RIVER FALLS, Wis.-- The Augsburg College volleyball team dropped a tough three-set match to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls 25-16, 28-26, 25-21 Wednesday evening. With the loss, the Auggies season record falls to 5-3, while the Falcons improved to 3-2 on the year.

Lauren Butler (SO, Burnsville, Minn.) led the Augsburg offensive attack, recording seven kills with a .217 hitting percentage. Katie Christensen (SR, North Mankato, Minn./Mankato West HS) and Nikolene Miller (SO, Tomahawk, Wis.) each recorded five kills in the loss, while Miller recorded a .444 hitting percentage during the match. 

Denielle Johnson (SR, Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park HS) recorded 17 set assists, while Jessica Hilk (SR, Waconia, Minn./Mayer Lutheran HS) matched a season high with 14 digs.

The Auggies return home to host the 29th annual Augsburg College Invitational this Friday and Saturday (9/10-11) at Si Melby Hall. Augsburg's first match will be Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Edgewood College (Wis.)
