MOORHEAD, Minn. --
Katie Lamirande (SO, Cloquet, Minn.) and
Kressi Lehn (SR, Rogers, Minn.) scored third-period goals for Augsburg College, but the Auggies dropped a 5-2 decision to Concordia College-Moorhead in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game on Saturday afternoon at the Moorhead Sports Center.
Katelyn Dold claimed a natural hat trick for Concordia (10-6-1 overall, 4-5-1 MIAC) with three straight goals to give the Cobbers a 3-0 second-period lead. Abby Taffe and Emily Sell also scored for the Cobbers.
Lamirande scored her second goal of the season from
Erica Berthold (SO, Issaquah, Wash.) at the 1:47 mark of the third period for Augsburg (2-10-1 overall, 0-7-1 MIAC).
The Cobbers went ahead 4-1 on Taffe's goal at the 10:25 mark of the final period, but the Auggies cut into the lead again 1:41 later, as Lehn scored her third goal of the campaign from
Jeanna Dudley (SO, Lindenhurst, Ill./Lakes Community HS) and
Erin Leyden (SR, Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South HS). The Cobbers clinched the win with an empty-net goal from Sell in the final minute of play.
Concordia outshot Augsburg by a 38-16 margin, with
Grace Edgar (SR, Plano, Texas/Plano West HS) collecting 31 saves in goal for the Auggies. Tamara Twite had 16 saves for Concordia.
Augsburg returns to action with a series against Hamline next weekend, with Friday's (1/28) game at 7 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink and Saturday's (1/29) game at 7 p.m. at the State Fair Coliseum in St. Paul.
