MINNEAPOLIS -- Nick Guran (JR, McHenry, Ill./McHenry East HS) had a hand in all four Augsburg College goals, with a goal and three assists as the Auggies rallied for a 4-4, overtime tie with Hamline University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey game on Saturday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

Joel Sauer (SR, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) had a goal and assist for Augsburg (8-8-3 overall, 2-6-2 MIAC), while Mario Mjelleli (SR, Faribault, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) and Jim Jensen (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Osseo HS) had the other Auggie goals.

Brian Arrigoni (JR, St. Paul, Minn.) and Ryan Kupperman (SR, Canterbury, N.H.) each contributed two goals and an assist for Hamline (12-3-4 overall, 7-0-3 MIAC), the No. 11-ranked team in the latest U.S. College Hockey Online Division III national poll.

Augsburg claimed a 2-1 lead after one period, as Mjelleli scored from Nikki Holt (SR, Hermantown, Minn.) and Guran at the 13:07 mark, and Sauer scored from Guran at the 18:41 mark.

But the Pipers scored three straight goals -- two from Arrigoni -- in the second period, to take a 4-2 lead, but the Auggies rallied to score a tie. Guran scored an unassisted goal with 17 seconds left in the second period, and Jensen scored from Sauer and Guran at the 11:28 mark of the third period.

Hamline outshot Augsburg by a 39-29 margin. Justin Lochner (SO, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) collected 35 saves in goal for Augsburg, while Hamline's Beau Christian (JR, Moorhead, Minn.) had 25 saves.

Both Sauer and Guran are among the MIAC's scoring leaders. With 28 points (11 goals, 17 assists), Sauer is tied for the MIAC's point lead in overall statistics, while Guran is tied for fourth with 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists).

Augsburg returns to MIAC play next weekend with a series against St. Mary's. Friday's (2/4) game is at 7:05 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink, while Saturday's (2/5) game is at 7 p.m. in Winona, Minn.
