Justin Lochner (JR, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) had 34 saves in goal for Augsburg College, but the Auggies dropped a 6-0 decision to host Gustavus Adolphus College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey game on Friday evening at the Don Roberts Ice Rink.
Zach May scored two goals and had an assist for Gustavus (3-4-2 overall, 2-3-0 MIAC), while Andy Pearson had a goal and three assists, and Ross Ring-Jarvy scored a goal with two assists. Jack Walsh and Gustav Bengston each scored a goal for the Gusties.
Gustavus outshot Augsburg (3-5-0 overall, 1-2-0 MIAC) by a 40-24 margin, including an 18-7 advantage in the third period, when the Gusties scored four goals. John McLean had 24 saves in goal for Gustavus.
Ben McClellan (FY, Cottage Grove, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) had five shots on-goal for Augsburg, while
John Lennartson (SR, Burnsville, Minn.) had three shots.
David Hines (SR, Sartell, Minn./St. Cloud Tech HS),
Wesley Waytashek (SO, Little Falls, Minn.), #B.J. McClellan# (SO, Cottage Grove, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) and
Trevor Doden (SR, Red Wing, Minn.) had two shots each.
The teams complete the MIAC series on Saturday (12/3) at 7:05 p.m. at Augsburg's Ed Saugestad Rink.
