ST. PETER, Minn. -- Brittany Zins (SO, Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) led the Augsburg College women's basketball team with eight points and seven rebounds but the Auggies fell 85-45 to a tough Gustavus Adolphus College team in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night at Gus Young Court.

Gustavus (15-9 overall, 14-7 MIAC) was led by Abby Rothenbuehler, who claimed the only double-double of the night, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The Gusties came out shooting a blazing 67.6 percent from the field in the first half, which led to a large half-time advantage for the Gusties. Augsburg played a competitive second half scoring 28 points to GAC's 31 but the half-time lead proved too much to overcome as the Gusties claimed victory over Augsburg.

For the game, Augsburg shot 30.2 percent (19-of-63), while Gustavus connected on 55.6 percent (35-of-63) of its shots. The Gusties finished with a 49-31 advantage on the boards, but the pesky Augsburg defense collected 12 steals, while the Gustie defense only recorded 11.

Augsburg and Gustavus both return to action on Saturday (2/19) with Augsburg traveling to St. Paul to take on St. Catherine and Gustavus hosting Saint Mary's.
