Auggies fall 6-0 at Gustavus

ST. PETER, Minn. -- Alex Hall (FY, Burnsville, Minn.) collected 46 saves in goal for Augsburg College in the Auggies' 6-0 loss to No. 7-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game on Friday evening at the Don Roberts Ice Rink.

The game was the fourth this season in which Hall has recorded 40-plus saves for Augsburg (3-18-1 overall, 1-15-1 MIAC) in her 11 starts. Gustavus (18-3-3 overall, 13-2-2 MIAC), which clinched the MIAC's regular-season title for the seventh straight year on Friday, outshot Augsburg by a 52-9 margin.

After a scoreless first period, the Gusties scored three goals in both the second and third periods, with 10 different players figuring in the scoring. Melissa Doyle scored two goals for the Gusties, while Lindsey Hjelm scored a goal with two assists, and Kirstin Peterson had a goal and assist. Whitney Schaff and Amanda Cartony also scored for the Gusties.

Erin Leyden (SR, Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South HS) had four shots on goal for the Auggies, while Jeanna Dudley (SO, Lindenhurst, Ill./Lakes Community HS) had two shots.

The teams complete the final series of the regular season on Saturday (2/26) at 7 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink.
