WAUPUN, Wis. --
Nicole Gorr (JR, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake North HS) and
Kendall Christian (FY, Moorhead, Minn.) scored goals for Augsburg College, as the Auggies claimed a 2-2 tie with host Marian University in a nonconference women's hockey game on Saturday evening at the Waupun Ice Rink.
Brianna Schulz (FY, Prior Lake, Minn.) stopped 39 shots in goal for Augsburg (4-4-2), which outshot Marian (0-11-1 overall) by a 48-41 margin. Amanda Alexander had 46 saves for Marian.
Gorr opened the scoring for the Auggies at the 8:23 mark of the first period, scoring her second goal of the season from
Katie Lamirande (SR, Cloquet, Minn.) and
Carissa Miller (JR, Woodbury, Minn.).
The Sabres took the lead with two goals in a 1:30 span of the third period, with Kristin Skubic scoring from Amanda Waigand and Brittany Syms at the 6:42 mark, and Devan Lesch scoring from Rachel Mullendore and Megan Seising-Gomoll at the 8:12 mark.
Augsburg tied the game at the 13:24 mark of the third period, as Christian scored her fourth goal of the season, assisted by
Casey Miller (FY, Bemidji, Minn.) and
Rachel Hennessy (FY, Williston, N.D.).
Rajewsky had seven shots-on-goal for Augsburg, while
Jeanna Dudley (JR, Lindenhurst, Ill./Lakes Community HS),
Erica Berthold (JR, Issaquah, Wash.) and
Jessica Larkin (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) had six shots each.
The teams complete the nonconference series on Sunday (1/8) at 2 p.m. in Fond du Lac, Wis.
