Auggies fall to Cobbers in three

BOXSCORE MINNEAPOLIS -- Nikolene Miller (SR, Tomahawk, Wis.) and Ashley Peper (FY, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) both claimed a team-best 10 kills, but the Augsburg College volleyball team dropped a hard-fought three-set Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match (25-18, 27-25, 25-22) to Concordia College on Wednesday evening at Si Melby Hall.

The Auggies (14-12, 4-6 MIAC) fell behind early, dropping the first set 25-18, but battled back in both the second and third sets before eventually dropping the match to the Cobbers (12-9 overall, 7-3 MIAC). Augsburg led the final set by a score of 19-10, but the Cobbers closed with a 15-3 run late to seal the set win and victory. The win clinches a berth into the MIAC postseason playoffs for Concordia, while the loss eliminates the Auggies from postseason play.
