Auggies fall 3-0 at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Brianna Schulz (SO, Prior Lake, Minn.) claimed 35 saves in goal, but her Augsburg College women's hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision to host Adrian College in a nonconference contest on Friday evening at Arrington Ice Arena.

Sarah Connelly had a hand in all three Adrian goals, scoring twice and adding an assist. Alex Vallee also scored for Adrian, while Lauren Turner had two assists. Audrey Noles also had an assist for Adrian.

It was the first game of the season for both teams. The teams conclude the series on Saturday (10/27) at 2 p.m. Eastern time at Adrian.

Augsburg was outshot by a 38-20 margin in the game. It marks the 12th time in Schulz's 18 career starts that she has had 35 or more saves in goal.

Megan Bergland (FY, Thief River Falls, Minn.) had four shots-on-goal for Augsburg, whil Rachel Hennessy (SO, Williston, N.D.) and Jessica Larkin (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) had three shots each.

Adrian scored a goal in each period. Connelly scored from Turner and Noles at the 16:08 mark of the first period, while Vallee scored from Connelly and Turner at the 3:24 mark of the second period. Connelly scored her second goal of the game, an empty-net, unassisted marker, with three seconds left in the game.
