MINNEAPOLIS -- Goalie Brianna Schulz (FY, Prior Lake, Minn.) stopped 45 shots for Augsburg College, but the Auggies dropped a 2-1, overtime decision to visiting St. Olaf College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game on Saturday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

Augsburg (5-8-6 overall, 2-8-2 MIAC) goalie Schulz recorded her fourth 40-save game in her 12th collegiate start. It was Augsburg's third overtime game in a row and eighth overtime game of the season (1-1-6).

Jess Geisinger (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) scored the lone goal of the game for the Auggies, assisted by Kendall Christian (FY, Moorhead, Minn.) at the 9:24 mark of the first period. Geisinger scored in both games against the Oles this weekend -- the first two goals of her collegiate career.

St. Olaf (6-9-4 overall, 6-4-2 MIAC) tied the game at the 11:24 mark of the second period, when Christina Benjamin (SR, Edina, Minn.) scored a shorthanded goal, assisted by Nicole Stumpf (JR, Oakdale, Minn./Hill-Murray HS). With 1:06 remaining in overtime, the Oles claimed the victory, when Kira Clunis (SO, Mahtomedi, Minn.) scored from Alison Umland (JR, Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata HS) and Devyn Hotho (FY, Minden, Nev./Douglas HS).

St. Olaf outshot Augsburg by a 47-29 margin, incluidng a 26-8 margin in the third period and overtime. Ali McKeever (FY, Woodbury, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) had 28 saves for the Oles.

Rachel Hennessy (FY, Williston, N.D.) had four shots on-goal for Augsburg, while Geisinger, Christian, Casey Miller (FY, Bemidji, Minn.), Sara Rajewsky (FY, Murdock, Minn./Benson HS) and Jessica Larkin (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) had three shots each.

Both teams return to MIAC play next weekend, with Augsburg taking on Bethel and St. Olaf facing St. Benedict. For the Auggies, next Friday's (2/10) game is at 7 p.m. at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn., and next Saturday's (2/11) game is at 7 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink.
