MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College Dance Team recently completed its 2011-12 season at the DX National Americup Competition at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The team claimed fourth-place finishes with both its Pom and Jazz routines, competing against teams from California, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

This was the first year the team competed with two routines at four competitions. The squad placed first in both Collegiate Pom and Jazz at the Timberwolves Challenge Cup at the Target Center, as well as first in Collegiate Pom at the St. Thomas Invitational. The team also brought home two first-place titles in both Collegiate Pom and Jazz at the Wow Factor Sports Competition.

Aside from its successful competitions, the highlight of the team's season was hosting the sixth annual Augsburg Dance Show, which included performances from the Augsburg College Dance Team, the Minnesota Viking Cheerleaders, The Minnesota Timberwolves Dancers, an Augsburg Student Hip Hop group as well as studio and school teams from throughout the Twin Cities and surrounding areas.
