Lekpea Kordah (JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) scored his first goal in an Augsburg College uniform, the lone score in Augsburg's 1-0 victory at Concordia University-Wisconsin in a nonconference men's soccer game on Saturday afternoon at Fitting Field.
Kordah, who spent his first two seasons at Lincoln College (Ill.) before transferring to Augsburg, scored on a quick pass from
Scott Clinton (SO, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) in the 49th minute, and the Auggies (3-0-1 overall) held on for the win, despite being outshot by an 11-7 margin by Concordia-Wisconsin (2-2-0 overall). The host Falcons also had an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks in the game.
Goalkeeper
Clayton Lynch (JR, Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier HS) earned his second shutout of the season and 12th of his career, claiming four saves in the victory. Sam Ische had three saves for Concordia in a losing effort.
Chad Gilmer (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) had three shots for the Auggies. Gilmer was one of three Auggies to play the full 90 minutes, joining Lynch and defender
Sherif Soud (SR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Eagan HS).
Augsburg concludes its trip to the Milwaukee, Wis., metro area on Sunday (9/9) at 1 p.m., with a game at the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
