BOXSCORE MINNEAPOLIS -- Darby Lindgren (FY, Lakeville, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) tied the game for Augsburg College with a goal in the second period, but two goals in a 3:57 span later in the frame lifted the University of Wisconsin-Superior to a 3-1 victory in a nonconference women's hockey game on Tuesday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

Lindgren scored her third goal of the season at the 7:51 mark of the second period for Augsburg (3-6-0 overall), assisted by Casey Miller (JR, Bemidji, Minn.).

But Wisconsin-Superior (6-2-3 overall) took the lead back at the 14:51 mark of the period, when Lynne Larson (SO, Blumenort, Manitoba) scored from Dani Schultz (JR, Morris, Minn.) and Kelsey Firkus (SR, Chilliwack, British Columbia). Firkus scored at the 18:12 on a power-play goal, assisted by Sheryl Kaskiw (SR, Souris, Manitoba) and Alison Shrift (SR, Traverse City, Mich.).

The Yellowjackets scored the first goal of the game at the 12:54 mark of the first period, a power-play goal by Karen Larson (SO, Blumenort, Manitoba), assisted by Schultz and Kaskiw. UW-Superior went 2-for-3 on the power play in the game, while Augsburg did not score in its two power-play opportunities.

UW-Superior outshot Augsburg by a 32-22 margin. Brianna Schulz (JR, Prior Lake, Minn.) claimed 29 saves in goal for Augsburg, while Kim Kobar (FY, The Pas, Manitoba) had 21 saves for UW-Superior.

Claire Cripps (SO, Hutchinson, Minn.) and Ellie Schaaf (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) had four shots on goal each for Augsburg, while Danielle Heitkamp (FY, Bismarck, N.D./Grand Rapids (Minn.) HS) and Rachel Hennessy (JR, Williston, N.D.) had three shots each.

Augsburg is now idle for the holiday break and returns to action on the weekend of Jan. 3-4, with a home series against Adrian (Mich.) at Ed Saugestad Rink. The game on Friday, Jan. 3 is at 7 p.m., while the game on Saturday, Jan. 4 is at 2 p.m.
