BOXSCORE MINNEAPOLIS -- Rachel Hennessy (SO, Williston, N.D.) scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season for Augsburg College in the second period, but a goal early in the third period gave Bethel University a 2-1 victory over the host Auggies in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game on Friday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

Bethel (10-8-2 overall, 7-4-2 MIAC) outshot Augsburg (6-12-2 overall, 2-9-2 MIAC) by a 37-17 margin, including a 20-4 advantage in the third period.

Augsburg goalie Brianna Schulz (SO, Prior Lake, Minn.) stopped 35 shots in goal, marking her 11th game this season with 30 or more saves. Schulz now has a .935 save percentage, with 617 saves, on the season.

Jill Larson (FY, Maple Grove, Minn.) scored for Bethel from Molly Eagles (SR, Falcon Heights, Minn./Roseville HS) at the 17:47 mark of the first period, and Cristina Masten (JR, Fergus Falls, Minn.) scored the eventual game-winner from Caroline Kivisto (FY, Dassel, Minn./Dassel-Cokato HS) and Kalie Johnson (SO, Richfield, Minn.) at the 1:20 mark of the third period.

Hennessy claimed an unassisted goal at the 5:33 mark of the second period for the Auggies. The goal was Hennessy's 29th of her 45-game collegiate career. She ranks seventh in career goals in Augsburg program history, and her 44 career points (29 goals, 15 assists), moving her into an 11th-place tie in Augsburg career history.

The teams will complete the MIAC series on Saturday (2/9) at 3 p.m. at the Schwan SuperRink in Blaine, Minn.
