Brianna Schulz (SO, Prior Lake, Minn.) had 28 saves in goal for Augsburg College, but the Auggies dropped a 4-0 decision to host Bethel University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey contest on Saturday afternoon at the Schwan SuperRink.
Christina Masten scored a goal and added an assist for Bethel (11-8-2 overall, 8-4-2 MIAC), while Biz Huss, Kelsey Johnston and Renee Johnson added goals for the Royals.
Bethel outshot Augsburg (6-13-2 overall, 2-10-2 overall) by a 32-15 margin.
Rachel Hennessy (SO, Williston, N.D.) had six shots on-goal for Augsburg, while
Kayla Fuechtmann (FY, Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial HS) had three shots and
Erica Berthold (SR, Issaquah, Wash.) had two shots.
Huss opened the scoring for the Royals at the 1:15 mark of the first period, while Masten scored at the 5:33 mark and Johnston scored at the 11:16 mark. Johnson finished the scoring for the Royals with her goal at the 9:39 mark of the third period.
Erika Allen had 15 saves in goal for Bethel.
Augsburg returns to action next weekend with a series against St. Thomas. Next Friday's (2/15) game is at 7 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink, and next Saturday's (2/16) game is at 2 p.m. at the St. Thomas Ice Arena in Mendota Heights, Minn.
