BOXSCORE MINNEAPOLIS -- Concordia University-Wisconsin rallied from an early deficit, scoring four goals in the third period to top host Augsburg College 5-2 in a nonconference men's hockey game on Saturday afternoon at Ed Saugestad Rink.

Corbin Chapman (FY, Burnsville, Minn.) and Ben McClellan (JR, Cottage Grove, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) scored goals for Augsburg (9-3-1 overall), which outshot Concordia-Wisconsin (8-4-3 overall) by a 30-28 margin.

Tied 1-1, Augsburg had outshot Concordia by a 27-13 margin through two periods of play. But the Falcons outshot the Auggies by a 15-3 margin in the third period and scored four goals to Augsburg's one.

Devin Stuermer (SO, Milwaukee, Wis.) scored two third-period goals, both assisted by Brandon Bayer (SR, Milwaukee, Wis.). Matt Gates (JR, Palatine, Ill.) had a goal and an assist in the third period, and Harrison Newlands (SO, Toronto, Ontario) had the other Falcon goal. Tanner Bull (FY, Brooklin, Ontario) scored for the Falcons in the first period, and Cody Doiron (FY, Caledon, Ontario) had two assists.

Augsburg opened the scoring with Chapman's second collegiate goal, scored at the 2:38 mark of the second period from Dylan Meier (FY, Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista HS) and Drew Allen (SO, Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley HS).

McClellan scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season at the 9:53 mark of the third period, assisted by Mack Ohnsted (SO, Vernon Hills, Ill./Adali E. Stevenson HS) and Scott Eberline (SR, Northville, Mich./Novi HS).

John Bretzman (JR, Mendota Heights, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) had 23 saves in goal for Augsburg, while Domingo Torrenueva (SO, Oshawa, Ontario) had 28 saves for Concordia-Wisconsin.

Augsburg returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play next weekend with a series against Gustavus. Next Friday's (1/17) game is at 7 p.m. in St. Peter, Minn., and next Saturday's (1/18) game is at 7:05 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink.
