BOXSCORE ST. PETER, Minn. -- Darby Lindgren (FY, Lakeville, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) had a goal and an assist for Augsburg College, but two third-period goals gave Gustavus Adolphus College a 3-2 win over the visiting Auggies in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game on Saturday afternoon at Don Roberts Ice Rink.

Rachel Hennessy (JR, Williston, N.D.) scored a third-period goal for Augsburg (5-10-0 overall, 2-6-0 MIAC). Gustavus (10-3-2 overal, 8-0-0 MIAC) entered the weekend ranked No. 7 in the latest U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) Division III national poll and No. 8 in the D3hockey.com national poll.

Gustavus outshot Augsburg by a 32-7 margin, but Augsburg goalkeeper Brianna Schulz (JR, Prior Lake, Minn.) came up with 29 saves. Lindsey Hibbard had four saves in 31 minutes of work, with Marah Sobczak collecting a save in 29 minutes of relief for the Gusties.

The Gusties struck first, as Melissa Doyle scored on the power play from Courtney Bethune at the 17:06 mark of the first period. But Augsburg struck back in the second period, as Lindgren scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season, assisted by Claire Cripps (SO, Hutchinson, Minn.), at the 9:17 mark. Cripps now has a team-high 11 points (five goals, six assists) on the season, while Lindgren now has 10 points (seven goals, three assists).

The Gusties took the lead back 36 seconds into the third period, as Allison Eder-Zdechlik scored from Emily Reibert. The Gusties took a 3-1 lead at the 8:13 mark, with Emily Gustafson scoring from Keri Pickel.

Augsburg trimmed the advantage to 3-2 at the 18:08 mark, as Hennessy scored her fourth goal of the season, a power-play marker from Danielle Heitkamp (FY, Bismarck, N.D./Grand Rapids (Minn.) HS) and Lindgren. 

Augsburg returns to MIAC play next weekend with a series against Concordia-Moorhead, with both games at Ed Saugestad Rink. Next Friday's (1/24) game is at 7 p.m., with next Saturday's (1/25) game at 2 p.m.
