Claire Cripps (SO, Hutchinson, Minn.) scored the lone goal of the game for Augsburg College for the second straight contest, in the Auggies' 8-1 loss to Adrian College (Mich.) in a nonconference women's hockey game on Saturday afternoon at Ed Saugestad Rink.

Adrian (9-3-0 overall), the No. 10-ranked team in the latest D3hockey.com Division III national poll, again dominated on the power play, converting 6-of-11 opportunities while also scoring a shorthanded goal. On the weekend, the Bulldogs went 9-of-14 on the power play.
Nine different Bulldogs contributed to the scoring, with Kelsey Kusch (JR, St. Clair Shores, Mich.) scoring two goals and adding two assists, Devyn Fitzhenry (SO, Gaylord, Mich.) scoring two goals with an assist, Alix Vallee (SR, Belleville, Ontario) scoring a goal with three assists, and Danielle Smith (SR, Highland, Mich.), Hannah McGowan (JR, Redford, Mich.) and Kristin Lewicki (FY, Moundsville, W.Va.) contributing a goal and assist each. Courtney Millar (JR, Newport, Mich.) had three assists in the game.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 4-0 advantage in the first period, scoring three power-play goals and adding a shorthanded tally. The visitors scored two goals in both the second and third periods, with Augsburg's Cripps capping the scoring in the contest.
Adrian outshot Augsburg by a 36-25 margin. Both teams used two goalies in the game.
Brianna Schulz (JR, Prior Lake, Minn.) claimed 12 saves before being relieved by
Kristine Fonti (SO, Rothschild, Wis./Wausau West HS), who had 16 saves in 42 minutes of work for Augsburg. Jade Walsh (FY, Cochrane, Alberta) had 13 saves and Brooke Gibson (FY, Strathroy, Ontario) had 11 saves for Adrian.

Augsburg has another nonconference series next weekend, traveling to Hancock, Mich., to take on Finlandia University. Next Friday's (1/10) game is at 7 p.m. Eastern time, with next Saturday's (1/11) game at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time.
