POSTGAME INTERVIEW WITH COACH MIKE NAVARRE, OLIVIA MUYRES AND MOLLY ALLEN (YOUTUBE)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The game-winning goal started when Hannah Whitington (SO, Eagle Lake, Minn./Mankato East HS) claimed a UW-Oshkosh clearing attempt. She passed the ball back to Taylor Kuramoto (SR, Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS), who popped the ball into the penalty box from about 30 yards out. The ball eluded the UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper, and Muyres collected the ball in a scramble and put it in the net for her 15th goal of the season.
• Augsburg held control of possession through most of the game, particularly in the second half, as the Auggies outshot the Titans by a 12-4 margin, en route to a 19-10 advantage in the game. Augsburg also had five corner kicks to UW-Oshkosh's four.
• The win was the fourth straight shutout victory and seventh of the year for Augsburg goalkeper Marissa Guillou (FY, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS), who had two saves in the game.
• Muyres' six shots led all players in the game, while Carter Denison (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) had five shots and Kuramoto had three shots.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg advances to face the host University of Chicago in a second-round game on Sunday (1/16) at 1 p.m. at Stagg Field. Chicago topped Webster (Mo.) in its first-round playoff game on Saturday.

• Augsburg improved upon its single-season school record for wins with its 17th triumph.
• Muyres expanded upon her school records for goals (46) and points (119), playing in her 76th career game. Her 15 goals and 10 assists this season are both second-most in a single season in school history, behind her 19 goals and 47 points last season.

QUOTES FROM AUGSBURG HEAD COACH MIKE NAVARRE
• "I am very proud of the performance today. Despite the cold weather and the intensity of being in the national tournament, we stayed committed to playing our style. As the game progressed, we held more of the ball and were able to generate some quality scoring chances."
• "The game winner wasn't the prettiest goal, but it still evolved from our ability to connect passes."
• "Tomorrow's game is a great challenge for us. Chicago is a deep and experienced team. They are playing on their home field and have a little more rest. However, we have a great will to compete and are excited for this opportunity."
