Auggies score 3-1 win at Concordia-Wisconsin

MEQUON, Wis. -- Dylan Meier (SO, Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista HS) had a goal and an assist, leading the Augsburg College men's hockey team in a 3-1 victory over Concordia University-Wisconsin in a nonconference contest on Friday evening at the Ozaukee Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg outshot Concordia-Wisconsin by a 36-28 margin in the game, building a 2-0 lead after the first period.
Eli May (FY, Eagan, Minn.) opened the scoring for the Auggies with an even-strength goal from Will Peterson (FY, Eagan, Minn.) at the 7:21 mark of the first period.
• Meier followed it up with a power-play goal, from Lucas Hendrickson (JR, Savage, Minn./Burnsville HS) and Evan Hesse (FY, Monticello, Minn./Palmer (Alaska) HS), at the 18:10 mark of the period.
Nate Flynn (FY, Hastings, Minn.) closed the scoring for the Auggies with a goal from Meier and Hesse at the 11:56 mark of the third period.
• Hesse had six shots on-goal for Augsburg, while Meier had five shots. Drew Anderson (FY, Rochester, Minn./Century HS) and Corbin Chapman (SO, Burnsville, Minn.) had four shots each.
• Augsburg goalie Fredrik Melander (SO, Uppsala, Sweden/Trinity-Pawling Prep (N.Y.) HS) stopped 27 of the 28 shots he faced to improve to 3-1-0 on the season.


FOR THE FOES
• Anthony Pickering scored the lone goal of the game for the Falcons, a goal from Brody Decker and Trammell Lynes at the 1:41 mark of the second period.
• Dylan Frank had 33 saves in goal for Concordia.
