MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College volleyball team fell in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoff championship match to the University of St. Thomas in a three-set sweep on Saturday afternoon at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED• The Tommies led the first set from start to finish, recording a 25-17 win. The second set was a battle with six lead changes and a final score of 31-29. St. Thomas used the momentum from the set two victory to propel it to a 25-21 third-set win and MIAC playoff championship.

Ashley Peper (JR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) finished with a match-high 20 kills, along with 10 digs.

Colleen Ourada (SR, Omaha, Neb./Mercy HS) also had a kill-dig double-double, with 14 kills, 15 digs and one block.

Jessica Lillquist (JR, Sebeka, Minn.) had 11 kills with a .318 attack percentage. Â

Courtney Lemke (SO, Brownton, Minn./Glencoe-Silver Lake HS) finished with 45 assists, six digs and one solo block. Libero
Mackensie Menke (SR, Prior Lake, Minn./Shakopee HS) had 22 digs in the match.

Jaelyn Arndt (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS), and
Ellen Sachs (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) combined for five kills and five blocks.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE• The Auggies, ranked No. 19 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III national poll and No. 3 in the NCAA Central Region, will now wait to see if they will receive an at-large bid into the
NCAA Division III national tournament. Bids will be announced on Monday (11/10).• Ourada has now recorded 21 kill-dig double-doubles this season and 50 in her career.
• Peper has now recorded 14 kill-dig double-doubles this season and 39 in her career.
FOR THE FOES• Jill Greenfield led St. Thomas with 16 kills and 13 digs.
• Kelly Foley had 13 kills with a .400 attack percentage.
• Taylor Lewis also recorded a double-digit kill total with 10.
• Setters Maddie Reese and Kayla Walton finished with 28 and 19 assists respectively.
