Auggies remain unbeaten with 1-0 win

MINNEAPOLIS -- Marie Fitzgerald (JR, Fort Atkinson, Wis.) scored the game-winning goal with 3:12 remaining the second half, as Augsburg College improved to 3-0-0 with a 1-0 win over the University of Minnesota-Morris in a nonconference women's soccer game on Monday afternoon at Cougar Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Fitzgerald headed home a cross from Molly Allen (SR, Stillwater, Minn.) in the 87th minute, breaking a scoreless draw and keeping the Auggies unbeaten. Carter Denison (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) also had an assist on Fitzgerald's goal.
• Augsburg outshot Minnesota-Morris by a 14-1 margin in the game. 
• Fitzgerald had four shots for the Auggies, while Denison had three shots. Marta Anderson (SO, Mankato, Minn./Mankato East HS) and Abi Rodstein (SR, Eagan, Minn.) had two shots each.
• For the third straight game, Lucy Bukowski (JR, Two Harbors, Minn.) and Marissa Guillou (FY, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) split time in goal for Augsburg, with Bukowski playing in the first half and making one save, and Guillou playing the second half and not having to make a save.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Fitzgerald now has six goals and 13 points in her first three games this season, both totals tops among Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference players in overall statistics. She now has 17 goals in 41 career games.
• Allen improved upon her new Augsburg career record for assists, claiming her 28th on Monday.
• Augsburg has now outscored its opponents by a 19-0 margin in its first three games.
