Auggies drop 4-1 decision at St. Norbert

BOXSCORE DE PERE, Wis. -- Megan Robertson (FY, Boissevain, Manitoba) scored the lone goal of the game for Augsburg College, but host St. Norbert College built a 3-0 lead after two periods to claim a 4-1 win over the Auggie in a nonconference women's hockey game on Saturday afternoon at the Resch Olympic Pavillion.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Robertson scored her fourth goal of the season 53 seconds into the third period, scoring a power-play goal on an assist from Claire Cripps (JR, Hutchinson, Minn.).
• St. Norbert outshot Augsburg by a 37-19 margin, including a 17-3 advantage in the first period. Augsburg goalie Rebecca Sonnek (FY, Edina, Minn.), making her second collegiate start, had 33 saves in a losing effort.
• For the second straight night, Augsburg's penalty kill held the Green Knights to no goals, this time in three power-play opportunities. The Auggies held the Green Knights to 0-for-8 on the power play on the weekend.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Despite the loss, Augsburg has recorded six wins in its last eight games.
• Cripps now has six assists on the season, second-most on the team and tied for 11th among MIAC players in overall statistics.


FOR THE FOES
• Emily Bondrager scored two goals for St. Norbert, while Katie Conlon and Ali Parker also scored goals.
• Kenna Farrey had two assists for the Knights.
• Leigh Grall had 18 saves in goal for St. Norbert.

• Augsburg returns to MIAC action with a series against Gustavus next weekend, with next Friday's (1/16) game at 7 p.m. at Gustavus and next Saturday's (1/17) game at 7 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink.
