Auggies take down Wildcats

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Augsburg College volleyball team rallied after losing the first set to win three straight and beat St. Catherine University in four sets in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies picked up their second conference win in a row by recording a .200 team attack percentage, 88 digs and five blocks. The Wildcats finished with an attack percentage of .123, 78 digs, and just two blocks.
The Auggies were led by Ashley Peper (SR, Bloomington, Minn/Jefferson HS), who finished with 18 kills and an attack percentage of .326. Peper led all players in kills and added 17 digs, four assists, an ace, and a solo block.  
Taylor Linn (SO, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) also recorded a double-digit kill total for the Auggies with 11, while Bridget Bednar tallied seven kills with a team best .429 attack percentage from the middle hitter position. 
Jordan Weeding (SO, Greenfield, Minn./Rockford HS) and Jaelyn Arndt (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) recorded five kills apiece. Arndt added three blocks. 

Macey Terhell (FY, Osceola, Wis.) led the Auggie defense with 21 digs and added two service aces. 
• Morgan Malley (FY, Harmony, MInn./Fillmore Central HS) recorded 32 assists and 11 digs, while Hannah Gibbemeyer (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) finished with 14 assists, four digs and two kills. 

FOR THE FOES
• Mackenzie Peper, Amber Zeiher, and Alyssa Besch led the Wildcat offense with 10, 10, and nine kills respectively.   
• Hayley Levenhagen dished out 21 assists, while Maria Davis finished with 16. 

UP NEXT
• Augsburg hosts St. Thomas for its homeocming match on Saturday (10/10) at 5 p.m. in Si Melby Hall .
• St. Catherine will travel to St. Joseph, Minn. for a conference match at the College of Saint Benedict on Saturday at 3 p.m.
