QUOTES FROM AUGSBURG COACH GREG HOLKER:
• "Up until the 70th minute or so, we were pretty good and scored some stunning goals. Bobby got on the board quick, bending one in the top corner, and then Peyton slammed a volley from Lionel that was absolutely fun to watch."
• "We didn't waste any time in the second half when Bobby grabbed a brace a minute in off Peyton's intelligent free kick to get to 3-0. Our fourth goal was the apex of the night coming from a really long passing sequence and buildup that went side to side before
Barinedum Kordah (SR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) found himself on the right edge. He served it in and Ben flicked it back to Bobby, who found himself facing the wrong direction before laying it off for Ebesa to smash it in from the top of the box. Just a great team goal."
"I thought
Abdullah Alshayba (SO, Alkhobar, Saudi Arabia/ISG Dammam HS) had his best game as an Auggie today -- he was so good on both sides of the ball and I am so encouraged by his growth recently.
Taylor Sullivan (FY, Waukesha, Wis./Kettle Moraine HS) was solid as well and
Clark Page did really well in a few tricky moments off their set pieces. I know he's disappointed to have conceded two goals late; we all are. We didn't manage the end of the game very well and showed some cracks in an otherwise great team performance. We will need to tidy that up as we head to Hamline Saturday for a must-win game for both teams."
