MINNEAPOLIS -- Claiming a 27-8 advantage in shots and dominating the tempo from start to finish, the Augsburg College women's soccer team scored a 3-0 win over the University of Northwestern-St. Paul in a nonconference game on Monday evening at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg controlled the pace of play throughout the contest, outshooting Northwestern by a 12-3 margin in the first half and 15-5 margin in the second half. Twenty-two different Auggies saw game action in the contest, with 11 recording at least one shot.

Ashley St. Aubin (FY, Burnsville, Minn.) scored her
Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference-leading 12th goal of the season just 4:04 into the game, completing a give-and-go with
Ciara Gregory (FY, Cottage Grove, Minn./Park HS). In addition to leading the conference in overall goals, she also leads in total points (29).

Nora Edelen (SO, Middleton, Wis.) scored her first goal of the season at the 26:27 mark, on a blast from the center of the penalty box, deflecting off an attempted save by the Northwestern goalkeeper.

Carter Denison (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) scored her fifth goal of the season at the 56:05 mark, scoring on a rebound off a blocked shot byÂ
Marta Anderson (SR, Mankato, Minn./Mankato East HS). Anderson now has a team-best seven assists, tied for third among MIAC players in overall statistics.

Emily Chapman (FY, Elburn, Ill./Kaneland HS) had five saves in a full-game effort in goal, picking up her first collegiate shutout. Augsburg now has 10 shutouts as a team in its 14 games, good for second-best among MIAC teams.
• Denison had six shots for the Auggies, while Anderson had five shots. Edelen and
Molly Lamovec (SR, Eden Prairie, Minn.) had three shots each.

• Samantha Dewey had nine saves in goal for Northwestern.
