ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Augsburg College volleyball team clinched a share of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season championship with a 3-1 win over St. Catherine University on Saturday evening at Si Melby Hall. With the win, Augsburg remains unbeaten in MIAC play and could clinch the title outright with a win at Saint Benedict on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg struggled to find its offensive rhythm, but was able to grind out a hard-fought conference win, therefore clinching the top seed for the MIAC postseason tournament.Â

Courtney Lemke (SR, Brownton, Minn./Glencoe-Silver Lake HS) recorded her third-best setting night of the season, dishing out 42 assists -- her sixth match this season posting 40-plus assists -- while adding 11 digs, the eighth time this season she has finished with double-digit digs.
• The Auggie offense finished with three players in double figures, led by 13 kills from
Taylor Linn (JR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS). Linn led Augsburg with a .310 hitting percentage and added a team-best four blocks (one solo).Â

Jaelyn Arndt (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn) andÂ
DeeDee Maier (SR, Middleton, Wis.) finished with 11 and 10 kills respectively. Arndt added three blocks (one solo), while Maier added 12 digs and a service ace.
• Augsburg was defensively anchored byÂ
Macey Terhell (SO, Osceola, Wis.), who posted a match-high 29 digs, while adding two assists and an ace.
• For the match, Augsburg hit .118, while the Wildcats recorded a .131 hitting percentage. The Auggies picked up 87 digs, compared to 73 for St. Catherine and was able to out-serve (seven aces to five) and out-block (five team blocks to four) the Wildcats.
FOR THE FOES
• St. Catherine finished with three players recording double-digit kills, led by 11 from Libby Kreuser.
• Shanee Herd picked up 26 digs to lead a scrappy Wildcat defense, while Emily Neumann posted a team-best 21 assists.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg recognized five seniors in its final regular season home match. Arndt, Lemke, Linn, Maier and
Ellen Sachs (SR, Minneapolis/South HS) have combined for 86 match victories in their four seasons and have won and/or shared three MIAC regular-season championships and appeared in two NCAA tournaments thus far, ranking them among the top senior classes in Augsburg volleyball history.
