ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. -- The Augsburg College softball team picked up two nonconference wins with a sweep of Crown College on Monday afternoon. (SO, Little Canada, Minn./Concordia Academy HS) had a strong performance in the circle, throwing a shutout in six innings of work. Larson allowed just five hits, while walking two and striking out one.Â
• Cline and Sarah Buckner (SR, Duluth, Minn./East HS) led the Auggies at the plate, going 7-for-7 with four RBI and five runs. Cline went 4-for-4 with four RBI and two runs, while Buckner finished 3-for-3 with three runs. • Samantha Anderson (FY, Coon Rapids, MInn.) and Meghan Springborn (SO, Oakdale, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) both went 2-for-4, with Anderson adding two RBI.Â
• Others joining the hit parade for Augsburg were Ashley Anfinson (SR, Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Mayer HS), Amanda Niznik (JR, Columbia Heights, Minn.), Haley Larson (SO, Shakopee, Minn./Prior Lake HS), Jenna Orth (SR, Melrose, Minn.).Â
• Larson finished with three RBI, while Niznik chipped in two RBI.GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS• The hot Auggie bats carried over into game two as they exploded for 14 runs in five innings on 16 hits, while only striking out once.Â
• Augsburg's winning pitcher, Anderson, threw 2.2 innings without allowing a hit and striking out five.Â
• Cline led the Auggies at the plate again with three hits, going 3-for-4 with five RBI.Â
• Five other Auggies recorded multi-hit performances in game two:
