MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College baseball team split its third straight doubleheader in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play, taking the first game 10-8 and dropping the second game 9-6 to Concordia College-Moorhead on Saturday afternoon at Parade Stadium.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Trailing 3-0 after the opening half-inning, Augsburg scored nine straight runs to take a 9-3 lead after four innings of the seven-inning opener.

Eric Olheiser (JR, Maplewood, Minn./Tartan HS) hit RBI singles in the first inning.
Rhett Hebig (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) hit a run-scoring single,
Billy Brookshaw (SR, Prescott, Wis.) hit an RBI double and Tyler "Jonesy" Buescher (JR, Prior Lake, Minn.) drove in a run on a groundout in the third.
• Three more runs came across in the fourth, as two runs came across on a fielder's choice and throwing error, and another run came on an RBI single by Buescher. The Auggies capped the scoring when
Mike Brookshaw (FY, Prescott, Wis.) scored on a sacrifice fly by Marlowe.

Lincoln Hochmuth (JR, Cannon Falls, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) struck out six while walking three in five innings of pitching to earn the win, with
Steven Piette (SR, Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) striking out two while walking three in two innings to pick up the save.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Trailing 3-1 in the fifth inning,Â
Brandon Schmahl (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) gave the Auggies the lead with a three-run triple. Schmahl now has a team-best four triples and 38 RBI.
• The Cobbers tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the seventh, but Augsburg took the lead back when
Bryce Pruszinske (SR, Savage, Minn./Burnsville HS) hit a two-run double to left-center.
• Concordia sent 10 batters to the plate and scored five runs in the top of the ninth inning to take the lead, but Augsburg was retired in order in the bottom of the ninth to end the game.
• Augsburg scored a run in the first inning, as
Mike Brookshaw hit a one-out triple and scored on a groundout by Marlowe.

Mike Brookshaw had two hits to lead the Auggies in the second game.
FOR THE FOES
• Phil Kuball and Jordan Domine had three hits each for Concordia in the first game, with Tim Carlson adding two hits. Carlson, Domine and Cody Rahman hit doubles for the Cobbers.

Chad Johnson had two hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs while scoring two to lead the Cobbers in the second game. Aaron Green and Joe Hallock each hit doubles and drove in two runs.
