Linn leads Augsburg past Concordia

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Taylor Linn (SR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) led the Augsburg University offensive attack to an important 3-0 victory over Concordia College-Moorhead in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball action on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Auditorium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Linn continued her standout season, posting a match-high 12 kills, hitting at a .381 clip, while adding four digs and three solo blocks.
• The Auggie outside attack was led by Ellie Schwartz (SO, Woodbury, Minn.,/Hill Murray), who posted nine kills, hitting .353 for the match, while adding a solo block. Jordan Weeding (SR, Greenfield, Minn./Rockford HS) added seven kills and four digs.
• Defensively, Augsburg posted 41 digs, compared to just 31 for the Cobbers. Leading the way was Macey Terhell (JR, Osceola, Wis./Osceola HS), who picked up 11 digs, while Stephanie Hechsel (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS) and Tayah Barnes (FY, Preston, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) added seven digs apiece.
Morgan Malley (JR, Harmony, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) led all players with 35 assists. She is currently averaging 10.94 assists per-set and ranks second in the MIAC.
• As a team, Augsburg hit .258, while holding the Cobbers to just a .042 hitting percentage.

FOR THE FOES
• Concordia was led by Haley Cuppett, who posted nine kills, while adding six digs.
• Jill Klaphke and Lexi Turn teamed up for 24 assists to lead the Cobbers. 

UP NEXT
• Augsburg returns to action on Monday (9/25) at 6 p.m., when the Auggies host Minnesota-Morris in a nonconference match at Si Melby Hall.
