MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's soccer team remained at the top of the table in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, claiming an important 3-0 win over Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday evening at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• With the victory, Augsburg remains in first place in the MIAC standings with a 4-0-1 league mark and 13 conference points, a point ahead of second-place St. Olaf's 12 (4-1-0 in conference play).

Gabriela Encarnacion (SO, Bel Air, Md./Bel Air HS), a transfer from St. Mary's (Md.), scored her first goal as an Auggie at the 33:00 mark, taking a long feed from
Jessy Wiskofske (JR, Wausau, Wis./Wausau West HS) in the penalty box. She fired a shot off the right goalpost, and the ball skated along the goal line and went into the net off the inside of the left goalpost.

Ashley St. Aubin (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) scored her team- and MIAC-leading 11th goal of the season at the 46:23 mark, taking a right-side feed from Annelise Peterson (FY, Chaska, Minn./Chaska HS) and placing the ball above the goalkeeper and into the net.
• The Auggies scored on a Gustavus "own goal" in the 66th minute, as a centering attempt by St. Aubin on the left side of the net was redirected into the goal by a Gustavus defender.

Emily Chapman (SO, Elburn, Ill./Kaneland HS) claimed her first shutout win of the season and second of her Augsburg career, claiming a career-high nine saves in goal. Both teams had 13 shots in the game.
