ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Rallying from a 19-point second-quarter deficit, the Augsburg University women's basketball team forced overtime and outscored Macalester College 13-6 in the extra session, claiming an 80-73 victory in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball contest on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The first quarter was a close one, though the Scots ended the period on a 10-2 run to take a 16-10 advantage. The Scots continued the run into the second quarter, eventually taking its biggest lead of the game, 19 points, at 33-14 with 1:40 left. The Scots led 36-22 at halftime.
• Augsburg slowly cut into the Macalester lead in the second half. The Scots led 51-41 at the end of the third quarter, but the Auggies outscored the Scots 26-16 in the fourth quarter to force overtime. The Auggies outscored the Scots 12-2 in the last 2:04 of regulation, with
K'Aezha Wubben (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Hopkins HS) scoring the game-tying basket at the regulation buzzer.
• Augsburg built an eight-point lead in the overtime session, outscoring the Scots by a 13-6 margin in the extra stanza.
Arianna Jones (SO, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo HS) scored five points in the overtime, while
Camryn Speese (SO, Bloomington, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) scored four points.
• Speese scored a career-high 20 points, to go along with four rebounds, four assists and two steals, to lead the Auggies.
• Wubben scored 15 points -- her 10th double-digit scoring game -- to go along with seven rebounds, just one off her career-best.

Bridget Bednar (SR, Pierz, Minn./Pierz HS) scored 10 points with four rebounds and a blocked shot.
Tamira McLemore (SO, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) and
Abby Jordan (SO, Rogers, Minn./Robers HS) scored nine points each, and Jones scored eight points with four rebounds. McLemore added five rebounds, four assists and five steals.
• As a team, Augsburg connected on 44.6 percent (29-of-65) from the field, including 19-of-36 (52.8 percent) in the second half and overtime. Macalester shot 41.5 percent (27-of-65) from the field in the game. Macalester outrebounded Augsburg by a 48-37 margin, but Augsburg forced 18 Scots turnovers, converting them into 23 points.
FOR THE FOES
• Regan Fruh scored 23 points with 14 rebounds to lead Macalester, while Holly Hull scored 15 points with two steals and three rebounds.
• Grace Dickman scored nine points with six rebounds and two assists, and Justine Barraza scored seven points with two steals.
