HOW IT HAPPENED
• Clayton, who entered the game with one goal in her career, figured in the scoring on five of Augsburg's nine goals on Saturday. She scored a power-play goal late in the first period, then scored two straight goals in the third period to cap her hat trick.
• Clayton also assisted for two players who scored their first collegiate goals in the win -- Hollywood Hermanson (SO, Dover, Minn./Dover-Eyota HS) early in the second period and Katy Maksymiu (FY, Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield HS) in the third period.
• Fourteen different Auggies figured in the scoring. Hermanson and Mikayla Jones (SO, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) had a goal and assist each. Megan Robertson (SR, Boissevain, Manitoba/Boissevain HS) scored a shorthanded goal, and Jeanette Bealke (SO, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) and Mackenzie Molnar (SO, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) also scored goals.
Bridget Wagner (SO, Niles, Ill./Maine South HS) and Bailey Beane (JR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) had two assists each, and Emily Ach (SO, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS), Valerie Whichello (JR, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS), Megan Johnson (JR, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS), Nikki Nightengale (SO, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) and Jacie Hoehn (JR, Waseca, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) all had assists.
• Augsburg dominated virtually every aspect of the game on Saturday, claiming a 45-9 advantage in shots on-goal. The Auggies had a 13-1 advantage in the first period and a 20-2 advantage in the third period.
McKenna Manalli (JR, Byron, Ill./Byron HS) improved to 7-1-1 on the season with an eight-save effort in goal for the Auggies.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg's nine goals were its most in a single game since a 13-0 home win over Finlandia (Mich.) on Jan. 5, 2013, and its most goals against a MIAC opponent since a 12-1 win at Hamline on Nov. 20, 2003.
• Clayton's hat trick is the first for an Auggie since Kayla Fuechtmann scored four goals and Rachel Hennessy scored three goals in the 13-0 win over Finlandia in 2013, and her five points were the most for an Auggie since Hennessy's seven points (three goals, four assists) in the same game.
• It marked the fourth time that Augsburg has scored four or more goals in a game this season.
