2018 AHCA/KRAMPADE D-II/III ALL-AMERICAN SCHOLARS RELEASE
MINNEAPOLIS -- Claiming the most combined men's and women's honorees of any NCAA Division III or II school in the country, 24 members of the Augsburg University men's and women's hockey teams were named as American Hockey Coaches Association Division II-III/Krampade All-American Scholars, it was announced on Thursday.
For Augsburg, 18 men's hockey players and six women's hockey players earned the All-American Scholar honor, achieving a 3.60 grade-point average or better in both semesters of the 2017-18 school year, while also playing in at least 40 percent of the team's games.
The 18 Auggie men's hockey honorees are the most of any men's or women's team in NCAA Division III or II nationally, and Augsburg is one of just six schools nationally to have 18 or more combined men's and women's honorees. Nichols (Mass.) had 21 (15 men, six women), Endicott (Mass.) had 20 (nine men, 11 women), Bethel (Minn.) had 20 (seven men, 13 women), Manhattanville (N.Y.) had 19 (16 men, three women) and Hamilton (N.Y.) had 18 (13 men, five women).

The Auggies achieved success both in the classroom and on the ice in 2017. Under 12th-year head coach
Chris Brown, Augsburg's men's hockey team finished 19-10-0 overall and 10-6-0 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play, claiming the MIAC postseason playoff title and an NCAA Division III national quarterfinal finish for the third straight year. Under eighth-year head coach
Michelle McAteer, the Auggie women's hockey team finished 14-7-5 overall and 9-4-5 in MIAC play, reaching the MIAC postseason playoffs for the third straight season.
