SALEM, Ore. -- The Augsburg University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational in Salem, Ore. on Saturday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggie men recorded five personal-best times in Oregon. Leading the men was
Mohamed Salad (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS), who finished the 8,000-meter course in 26:41.7 -- beating his personal-best time by almost five minutes -- good for 83rd place.
• Also recording personal-best times were
Ryan Moore (SR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS), with a time of 28:11.8 and finishing in 138th place, and
Kevin Sethre (FY, Berthoud, Colo./Berthoud HS) in 152nd place and with a time of 29:03.2.

Gregory Miller (SO, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) and
Jackson Gerber (JR, Grantsburg, Wis./Grantsburg HS) finished in 30:04.5 and 30:51.4 respectively, while Gerber also set a person-best time.
• In his first race as an Auggie,
Cesar Martinez Vega (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Humboldt HS) set his personal-best time of 33:18.4.
• The Auggie women ran a 5,000-meter course and were led by
Ann Sheely (FY, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area HS), finishing in 122nd place with a 20:16.0 clocking.

Cait Olson (SR, Onamia, Minn./Onamia HS) was the next Auggie to cross the finish line in 21:14.8, followed by
Zoe Huebner (SO, Neenah, Wis./Neenah HS) who finished in 22:11.5.

Grace Hartman (FY, Anoka, Minn,/Anoka HS) and
Camryn Masse (FY, Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) crossed the line in 24:23.1 and 25:03.0 respecitively for Augsburg.
• Rounding out the Auggie contingent was
Jasmine Gonzalez (SO, Red Lake, Minn./Flandreau Indian School) and
Allison Mangan (SO, Roberts, Wis./Wisconsin Virtual Academy HS), who finished in 25:32.5 and 27:10.3 respectively.
FOR THE FOES
• In the women's race, Boise State took the title with 30 team points -- all of their runners finishing in the top-20 -- while their own Kristie Schoffeld led the pack with a time of 17:10.7.
• Boise State also claimed the team victory on the Men's side, with the top-two finishers being their own; Andrew Rafia finished in 24:09.2 and Riley Campbell finishing in 24:12.2.
