Early goals get Auggies back on winning track

ST. PETER, Minn. -- Scoring goals 60 seconds apart early in the game, the Augsburg University women's soccer team claimed a 2-0 win over host Gustavus Adolphus College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Ashley St. Aubin (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) scored her MIAC-leading 11th goal of the season and tallied her conference-leading 24th point, scoring on a shot from the left side at the 11:06 mark, assisted by Jessy Wiskofske (SR, Wausau, Wis./Wausau West HS).
• Exactly one minute later, Callie Athey (SO, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) scored her first goal of the year on a tight shot in front, assisted by Nora Edelen (SR, Middleton, Wis./Middleton HS).
• After the early goals, the Auggie defense tightened, withstanding a 17-14 shot advantage by Gustavus -- 11-7 in the second half. Seven Auggies played the full 90 minutes in the contest.
• Augsburg goalkeeper Emily Chapman (JR, Elburn, Ill./Kaneland HS) collected nine saves to pick up her third shutout of the season and sixth of her career. Augsburg now has four shutout wins as a team this season.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• St. Aubin extended her consecutive-game goal-scoring streak to five games. She has seven goals and an assists for 15 points in the five-game scoring streak.
