Auggies draw at St. Olaf, stay in first in MIAC

NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- Callie Athey (JR, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) scored for Augsburg University in the 62nd minute, as the Auggies remained in first place in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer race with a 1-1, two-overtime draw at St. Olaf College on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After a scoreless first half, the two teams exchanged goals in an 87-second span midway through the second half. Athey gave the Auggies the lead with her second goal of the season, a shot from distance over the goalkeeper's head, assisted by Molly Conners (SO, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS), in the 62nd minute. But the Oles struck back quickly, and the game remained tied the rest of the way.
• Augsburg held a 31-19 advantage in shots in the game -- 27-16 in regulation and 4-3 in overtime.
• Ashley St. Aubin (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) had 15 shots in the game, including five shots on-goal, while Niki Ryan (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) had five shots and Athey had four shots. 
• Goalkeeper Emily Chapman (SR, Elburn, Ill./Kaneland HS) had six saves for Augsburg.

FOR THE FOES
• Tessa Anderson scored from Katie Brunley in the 64th minute for St. Olaf.
• Ole goalkeeper Brynne Davis had 14 saves.

• With the draw, Augsburg remains in first place in the MIAC standings with 16 points, three points ahead of Saint Benedict, Carleton and St. Olaf.
