COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. -- Le'Andre Benion (SR, Roseville, Minn./Roseville HS) set three Augsburg University football single-game records for kickoff returns, including returning a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, in Augsburg's 61-6 loss at No. 4-ranked Saint John's University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon.

THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Saint John's 61, Augsburg 6
LOCATION: Clemens Stadium, Collegeville, Minn.
RECORDS: Augsburg 1-4 overall (0-3 MIAC), Saint John's 4-0 overall (3-0 MIAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Benion tied an Augsburg single-game school record, set twice before (Bob Dorgan vs. Concordia-Moorhead, 1979; Ricky Schreier vs. Saint John's, 2005) with eight kickoff returns, and set a new school mark with 212 kickoff return yards, breaking the old single-game record of 193, set by Hakeem Bourne-McFarlane in a 2013 game against Macalester. The eight kickoff returns also ties a MIAC record and the 212 kickoff return yards sets a new MIAC single-game record.
• Benion's 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, with 10:38 left in the game, broke the old school record for longest kickoff return, a 94-yarder by Dan Nayman in a 1980 game against Hamline.
• Saint John's scored touchdowns its first seven drives of the game, taking a 47-0 halftime lead and extending the advantage to 54-0 before Benion's kickoff return touchdown. Saint John's outgained Augsburg by a 533-108 margin in the game, held a 35:16-to-24:44 advantage in time of possession and ran 71 offensive plays to Augsburg's 48.
• Derek Glynn (SR, Lonsdale, Minn./Faribault HS) led the Augsburg defense with 11 tackles (four solo), while Camdin Carlson-Mathies (SO, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) had six tackles (four solo). Steven Edwards Jr. (SR, Kissimmee, Fla./Liberty HS) had 2.0 tackles for loss among his five tackles (four solo), and Tony Neve (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) blocked an extra point attempt in the first quarter.
• Chad Costello (JR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) completed 6-of-18 passes for 58 yards. Robert Adams (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Como Park HS) rushed seven times for 20 yards.
• Mike Rodriguez (JR, Hastings, Minn./Hastings HS) averaged 37.5 yards per-punt on six punts. His 37.2 yards per-punt average is second-best among MIAC punters this season.
