MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's hockey team extended its unbeaten streak to six straight games (4-0-2) with a 1-1 overtime tie with the College of Saint Benedict in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• For the second straight game, Augsburg held a huge shot advantage over Saint Benedict. After outshooting the Bennies 41-16 in Friday's 3-1 win, the Auggies outshot the Bennies by a 41-12 margin on Saturday -- 11-2 in the first period and 15-3 in the second period.
• Saint Benedict scored on its first shot on-goal of the game in the first period, but Augsburg was unable to score until the 18:33 mark of the second period, when
Nikki Nightengale (JR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) scored her team-best 10th goal of the season, assisted by
Jeanette Bealke (JR, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lke HS) and
Hollywood Hermanson (JR, Dover, Minn./Dover-Eyota HS). Nightengale's 10 goals are tied for fifth-most
among MIAC players in overall statistics, leading all MIAC defenders in goals.
• Augsburg outshot Saint Benedict by a 4-0 margin in overtime, despite being shorthanded on a penalty for the final 1:25 of the extra session.Â

Annie Juergens (JR, Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) had 11 saves in goal for Augsburg.
• With the win and tie over the Bennies, Augsburg remained in third place in the MIAC standings with 19 points, a point ahead of fourth-place Gustavus' 18, with two weekends remaining in the regular season.

• Shelby Schneider scored for Saint Benedict at the 8:26 mark of the first period, assisted by Mollie Wise and Maria Wallace.
• Kailee Medved had 40 saves in goal for Saint Benedict.
