MINNEAPOLIS -- Goalie
Maddie Seykora (SO, Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS) collected a career-high 17 saves for the Augsburg University women's lacrosse team in its 16-8 nonconference loss to Carthage College on Sunday afternoon at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Carthage outshot Augsburg by a 37-20 margin in the game, but Seykora kept the Auggies in the contest with her career-best 17-save effort. She also recorded two caused turnovers and five ground balls with her solid play around the net.
• Four straight goals in a 4:05 span early in the game gave Carthage the lead for good. The Lady Reds had another three-goal run late in the first half, after the Auggies had cut the lead to 5-4. Augsburg could cut the lead no closer than three goals the rest of the way.

Megan Furlong (SO, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) scored a career-high three goals with a caused turnover to lead the Augsburg offense.

Allie Tuccitto (SO, Rosemount, Minn./Eastview HS) scored two goals with an assist, a caused turnover and ground ball, and
Annika Hegrenes (JR, Maplewood, Minn./Concordia Academy HS) scored two goals with an assist and a career-high seven draw controls.

Christina Nelson (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) scored a goal with three draw controls and two caused turnovers.

Mikayla Knudson (JR, Zimmerman, Minn./Elk River HS) had three caused turnovers and two draw controls,
Demey Everett (JR, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Champlin Park HS) had three ground balls and a caused turnover, and
Kassie Diaz (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) had two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
• Carthage collected 24 ground balls to Augsburg's 16, while Augsburg had 29 turnovers to Carthage's 19. The Lady Reds converted 22-of-25 clearing attempts, compared to 18-of-29 for the Auggies. Carthage had 14 draw controls to Augsburg's 12.
FOR THE FOES
• Jessie Gibson scored seven goals with an assist, while adding two draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers to lead Carthage.
• Nicole Bowman scored five goals with two assists and two draw controls, and Hanna Holloway scored three goals with an assist, four caused turnovers, three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
