HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg scored the first five goals of the game in a period-and-a-half, outshooting Saint Mary's by a 45-31 margin in the victory. The opening goal came just 15 seconds into the contest, as Michael Redmon (FY, West Bloomfield, Mich./Centennial (Tenn.) HS) gained a turnover off a Saint Mary's pass attempt and fed the puck to Charlie Parker (JR, Verona, Wis./Verona HS), who snapped a wrist shot to the net for his fifth goal of the season. Fritz Belisle (FY, Red Wing, Minn./Roseville Area HS) received the second assist on the goal.
• The Auggies took a 2-0 lead at the 7:43 mark of the opening period, as a Nick Woodward (SO, Dubuque, Iowa/Dubuque HS) shot attempt from the left point was blocked, but Parker was able to claim the puck and fed a pass across the slot to Belisle, who hit a one-timer to the open right side of the net for his third goal of the season.
• Grant Reichenbacher (FY, Verona, Wis./Madison Edgewood HS) scored his eighth goal of the season at the 16:57 mark, putting home a rebound off a wrap-around shot by Ben Henderson (SO, North Branch, Minn./Totino-Grace HS), following a feed by Jarod Blackowiak (FY, Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie HS).
• Augsburg scored a pair of power-play goals 1:17 apart in the second period. Austin Martinsen (JR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) scored 12 seconds into a power-play from Patrick O'Connor (SO, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) and Tommy Carey (JR, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS). Then on a 5-on-3 power play, Jason Krych (SR, Champlin, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) scored his first goal of the season, completing a point-to-point passing play from Matt Hines (SO, Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins HS) and Austin Dollimer (SO, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS).
